Services must be confirmed before the move date. Availability is not guaranteed until your move is scheduled and confirmed.
3. Quotes and Pricing
Quotes are based on the information provided by the customer, including:
- Pickup address
- Drop-off address
- Move date
- Stairs or elevator details
- Walking distance
- Parking or truck access
- Item list
- Heavy or specialty items
- Packing needs
- Move distance
- Number of stops
Final pricing may change if move details change, additional items are added, packing is needed, stairs or long carries were not disclosed, parking is difficult, or the move takes longer than expected.
A quote is not a guaranteed final price unless Dallas Movers provides a written agreement stating that the price is fixed.
4. Booking and Deposits
A move is not officially reserved until Dallas Movers confirms the booking and any required deposit is paid.
Deposits help reserve your move date, crew, and time slot. Deposits are generally non-refundable unless Dallas Movers agrees otherwise in writing.
5. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Customers should notify Dallas Movers as soon as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule.
Rescheduling is based on availability. A new deposit may be required if the move is changed, canceled late, or rescheduled with short notice.
6. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
- Providing accurate move details
- Making sure pickup and drop-off locations are accessible
- Reserving elevators when needed
- Arranging parking or loading access
- Getting building permission when required
- Removing items from walls, closets, cabinets, and drawers when needed
- Packing boxes properly unless packing services are included
- Being present or having an authorized person present during the move
- Pointing out fragile, high-value, damaged, or specialty items before the move begins
Dallas Movers is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect information, building restrictions, elevator issues, parking problems, customer delays, or undisclosed move conditions.
7. Packing and Customer-Packed Items
Dallas Movers is not responsible for damage to items packed by the customer.
This may include:
- Boxes
- Bins
- Bags
- Totes
- Fragile items
- Glassware
- Electronics
- Artwork
- Mirrors
- Lamps
- Loose items
Customers should properly pack, seal, and label boxes before the move unless packing services are included.
8. Furniture Protection
Dallas Movers may use moving blankets, shrink wrap, tape, and standard moving equipment when needed.
Furniture protection helps reduce the chance of scratches, dents, or damage, but it does not guarantee that damage will never occur.
Dallas Movers is not responsible for pre-existing damage, weak furniture, particle board furniture, loose legs, unstable items, or furniture that is not designed to be moved after assembly.
9. Items We May Refuse to Move
Dallas Movers may refuse to move items that are unsafe, illegal, hazardous, improperly packed, too heavy for the scheduled crew, or likely to cause damage.
This may include:
- Hazardous materials
- Chemicals
- Flammable items
- Open liquids
- Perishable food
- Weapons or ammunition
- Live animals
- Plants
- Loose trash
- Items with pests, mold, or biohazards
- Items that cannot be moved safely
10. Specialty Items
Specialty items must be disclosed before booking. This may include:
- Pianos
- Safes
- Large appliances
- Oversized furniture
- Exercise equipment
- Pool tables
- Glass items
- Antiques
- Artwork
- Chandeliers
- Extremely heavy items
Additional charges may apply for specialty items.
11. TVs, Electronics, Mirrors, and Glass
TVs, mirrors, glass items, artwork, and electronics are fragile and should be packed or boxed properly before transport.
Dallas Movers recommends that TVs be moved in their original box or a proper TV moving box. If a customer chooses to move a TV, mirror, glass item, or electronic item without proper packing, the customer accepts the added risk.
12. Payment
Payment is due immediately upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Dallas Movers may accept payment by approved methods only. Returned payments, unpaid balances, or failed transactions may result in additional collection action or fees where allowed by law.
13. Liability and Claims
Dallas Movers works to handle belongings with care. However, moving involves risk.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, basic liability may be limited to $0.60 per pound per item. This means reimbursement for damage or loss may be based on the weight of the item, not the purchase price or replacement value.
Customers must report any damage or claim as soon as possible. Dallas Movers may request photos, item details, weight, receipts, and other documentation before reviewing a claim.
Dallas Movers is not responsible for:
- Pre-existing damage
- Customer-packed items
- Loose or unpacked items
- Particle board furniture
- Pressed wood furniture
- Weak or unstable furniture
- Items not properly prepared for moving
- Damage caused by building conditions
- Damage caused by weather
- Items of extraordinary value not disclosed before the move
- Items moved against mover recommendation
14. Delays
Dallas Movers works to arrive and complete moves as scheduled, but delays may happen because of traffic, weather, previous moves, building access issues, elevator delays, parking problems, customer delays, or other circumstances outside our control.
Dallas Movers is not responsible for losses caused by reasonable delays.
